Before committing I think it is important for you to understand what I believe about relationships and marriage. First of all, I do not have preconceived notions about whether you should stay together or part ways. I believe it is important to explore such questions openly, honestly, and thoroughly during our sessions and on your own. Once we explore your goals, I will work diligently to support you in achieving them, whatever they may be. Secondly, you are entrusting me to use my professional judgment as it relates to individual confidence. By becoming my clients, you are acknowledging that anything you communicate to me individually by phone, email or any other means may be important to bring up and work on in a couple therapy session, and I reserve the right (but not the obligation) to do so.
I work with the utmost respect for confidentiality and discretion, both in line with my own values and the HIPAA laws. These are a set of federal regulatory standards that outline the lawful use and disclosure of protected health information in the United States. They are fully regulated and provide protection for the privacy, security, and integrity of protected health information

Whether you are dealing with big T-Trauma, or little T-trauma it is still trauma. Trauma affects your life, and can significantly impact your mental health. I have spent my career working with victims of all types of trauma both physical and emotional, and am equipped to help identify trauma triggers and how to manage them. My work is about understanding the root of trauma, and helping my clients find a way to build their lives around it. I believe that pain and suffering are a part of the human experience, because it is through pain that we learn survival skills, and our experiences imprint not only on our minds and emotions, but also in our physical bodies. Holding trauma is physical, and learning to manage the weight of it in your life will allow you to thrive.
